On Friday, April 25, 2025, the students of Jireh Fundamental Education swapped their usual classrooms for something a bit more official — a visit to the National Assembly of Belize, currently operating out of the George Price Centre in Belmopan.

With energy high and curiosity even higher, the students explored the temporary home of Belize’s legislative body, getting a close-up look at the space where national decisions are made. The experience brought textbooks to life, as they moved through the chambers and hallways that are usually reserved for members of the House and Senate.

The visit offered a fun and educational glimpse into how the country is run, and even though the setting was temporary, the sense of history and importance was very real.

By the end of the day, the students had not only learned more about government — they’d made a memory they won’t soon forget.

Who says civics can’t be exciting?
