Belmopan – On Wednesday May 14, students from Paraiso Government School in the Corozal District traded their classroom for a front-row seat to Belize’s legislative process during a special visit to the National Assembly, currently operating out of the George Price Centre.
The group arrived with energy and curiosity, ready to take in the workings of the country’s parliamentary system. Inside the temporary chambers, students were guided through the different roles of the legislature, the journey of how laws are made, and the importance of civic responsibility.
The visit was a valuable opportunity for the students to see the real-world setting of national governance and better understand how decisions made in Belmopan affect communities across Belize, including their own in Corozal.
The day offered more than just a tour; it was a chance to connect with the foundations of leadership and democracy in a meaningful way. For the students of Paraiso Government School, the experience planted seeds of awareness, pride, and possibly, future ambition.
