Bright and early on Friday 28th April 2017, the National Assembly welcomed San Jose R.C. School from Toledo to its Chamber for a tour. The group consisting of 39 standard five and six students, 6 teachers and 3 parents arrived at 8:00A.M. sharp. They were escorted up and seated in the gallery where the presentation took place. The presentation was conducted by Ms. Ingrid Soriano, Parliamentary Officer 1 and Ms. Mary August, Parliamentary Officer 1 where by they gave the students a brief description of the historical background of the National Assembly, the composition of the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the functions of the legislative branch of government.

The students also had the pleasure to see the Mace and were given a brief history of its historical background of the design and the significant role it plays in the sitting of the House of Representatives.
