The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Secretariat (CPA) Virtual Post-Election Seminar with the National Assembly of Belize began today with an opening ceremony addressed by Hon. Carolyn Trench Sandiford, President of the Senate of Belize, Hon. Valerie Woods, MP, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belize and CPA Secretary-General Stephen Twigg.

Over the course of three days this week, Members and Senators will be joined by fellow Parliamentarians and experts from across the Commonwealth to discuss parliamentary practices, share knowledge and develop their skills as representatives of the citizens of Belize.

The CPA Post-Election Seminar programme introduces newly elected Parliamentarians to differing legislative systems and methods of working.
