Meeting on Proposed Solar Energy Initiative for the National Assembly of Belize

A meeting was held on Monday, 8th September 2025, to explore opportunities for advancing renewable energy at the National Assembly of Belize.

In attendance were representatives from various ministries and agencies, along with Mr. Ambarish Barnwal, representative of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) of India, who made a presentation to representatives from the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Infrastructure, Development and Housing (Project Execution Unit of the National Assembly restoration project), the Belize Energy Unit and from the Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly.

The presentation included the NTPC’s proposal to donate and install solar panels for the National Assembly of Belize. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly toward sustainability goals and set a precedent for other government facilities in Belize.
