The 15th Public Hearing held in the National Assembly Chambers in Belmopan today began at 10:45 A.M. There were two witnesses that appeared before the Committee today, Mrs. Inez Cassanova, who is a Senior Immigration Officer and Mr. Erwin Robinson, former Data Entry Clerk at the Immigration Department, Belmopan.

The Committee asked the witnesses a series of questions pertaining to the Auditor General’s Reports on Visa and Passport. Mrs. Cassanova was asked to give evidence about a report mentioned in the Visa Report of the Auditor General. The second witness, Mr. Robinson was questioned based on the allegations made in the Passport Report of the Auditor General, in relation to the case of Wong Hong Kim.

All Members of the Committee were present at the public hearing. The meeting concluded at 3:56 P.M. The Senate Special Select Committee is scheduled to meet again next Wednesday, 29th March 2017, to continue its public hearing.
