The Honourable Laura Tucker Longsworth, Speaker of the House of Representatives, met with representatives of the Commonwealth Secretariat at the National Assembly Building. The Honourable Speaker was informed of the two projects which are currently under review by the Commonwealth Secretariat: the Legislative Drafting Project at the Attorney General’s Ministry and the Classification and Compensation Study for Belize Public Service at the Ministry of the Public Service, Energy and Public Utilities.

The two officials from the Commonwealth Secretariat who met with the Honourable Speaker are Mr. Steven Malby, Head of the Law Development Section, Rule of Law Division, and Mr. Omar Mowlana, Adviser in Human Resource Management to the Public Sector Governance Unit.

The meeting was held in the Committee Room, National Assembly Building, Belmopan, on Monday, 3rd April 2017. Mr. Malcolm Monplaisir and Ms. Rosalie Saldivar from the Ministry of the Public Service, Mr. Albert Edwards, Deputy Solicitor General at the Attorney General’s Ministry and Mrs. Clarita Pech, Deputy Clerk at the National Assembly, also attended the meeting.
