Today, Wednesday, 10 February 2020, the Senate met in the Chambers of the National Assembly for a Special Sitting of the Senate. The agenda was a rather short one with three Bills and 3 Motions. However, at the introductory stage of the Bills, the Leader of Government Business Senator Eamon Courtenay, moved a Motion for the suspension of Standing Order 49 (1), to not proceed forthwith the next stage of the Bills, which is the second reading of the Bills until they are examined and considered by the Committee of the whole Senate. Madam Speaker then put the question and all the Senators agreed to the it. Furthermore, the 3 Motions were adopted.

At today’s meeting the Honourable Senator Bishop Alvin Benguche was the only Senator absent. The Senate was adjourned at 10:30 A.M.
