The program is to commence on the 23rd October and  end on the 25th October 2018.

The first activity of the programme was a visit of delegation from the Parliament of Belize, led by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Laura Tucker Longsworth and the President of the Senate, Hon. Lee Mark Chang. The visit offered key insights into parliamentary procedure in Westminster, as well as multiple opportunities for delegates and UK parliamentarians to connect and discuss issues of mutual interest.

In addition, the programme will strengthen the bilateral parliamentary relationship between the Parliament of Belize and the UK Parliament through a series of practical and diplomatic exchanges, focusing on areas of shared interest and developments in the international political landscape.

Furthermore, the programme will help Parliamentarians from the UK Parliament and Parliament of Belize to have an increased awareness and understanding of shared and respective priority issues, challenges and solutions, creating a strengthened link between the respective legislatures, and also both Parliament will be able to identify areas in which future engagement would be relevant and worthwhile.
