On Saturday, November 20th 2021, the National Assembly of Belize hosted the National Children’s Parliament in its Chambers in Belmopan. At this year’s National Children’s Parliament, not only did we have a cadre of children representing the House of Representatives, but they also had representatives for the Senate as well.

The National Children’s Parliament is an initiative made possible by the National Commission for Families and Children (NCFC) in partnership with the National Assembly of Belize, UNICEF, and Right Insights to showcase the voices and talents of our children and as well as to make our children more educated about parliament and its work.

The National Children’s Parliament Special Sitting of the House of Representatives began at 9:00 A.M. sharp and was adjourned at 10:35 a.m. On the Orders of the Day was one Bill that was introduced and debated and passed in one day’s sitting.

The Bill was based on Crime and Violence.

1. CRIMINAL JUSTICE (EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN IN THE COMMISSION OF OFFENCES) BILL, 2021
